"Photo Albums for Duchamp": On July 28, 1987, the SCP (Society for the Conservation of the Present) called me from the Philadelphia Museum of Art where the majority of Marcel Duchamp's work is housed & asked me to contribute something for the computer installation they were doing there in honor of Duchamp's 100th anniversary of his birth. The SCP were a conceptual art archiving group from Montréal that were friends of mine. My girlfriend Laura & I talked in comic voices describing photos in our photo albums. Given that these photos are often of strange things & given that our voices were cartoony these descriptions were surreally evocative without necessarily being easily understood.
